Today we were invited by Amy's parents to their big house. They built that house by themselves and they also owned the lawn, forest and brook near the house. The lunch is very dilicious. I like the potato very much

Easter

View all 7 photos...
In Bible, after Jesus was crucified, he rose early on the first day of the week. Later Jesus appeared to the Eleven as they were eating. After the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, he was taken up into heaven and he sat at the right hand of God.

Easter, the Sunday of the Resurrection, Pascha, or Resurrection Day, is the most important religious feast of the Christian liturgical year. Today is the coldest Easter in recent 20 years. We went to Senior Martin's home to have dinner. As usual, there are a lot of people from church there. After praying, we had a very big dinner. We talked about this special day but nobody knows why it called "Easter". After dinner, we made ice-cream by throwing that heavy ball. It is somewhat strange for me but interesting Senior Martin hid a lot of colorful fake eggs in his yard. Julia, ZZ and I went to the yard to search for them. It is an old tradition of Easter. Although just like Christmas, it is nothing to do with the Bible, just for fun, we liked this game. Finally we found every egg! Babara put a lot of sweets in our Easter basket

Mike, Audry, Martins' and we played game for the whole afternoon. It is so relaxed to enjoy such a Sunday

Symbol of America

View all 9 photos...
The bold eagle was made the symbol of America since 1782. Last weekend, I became the third wheel Mike, Audry and I went to Wisconsion to watch bold eagles. We drove to a river which crosses Mississippi.

Although some eagles stay here year-around, most nest in northern Minnesota, northern Wisconsin and Canada. In the spring, eagles move up the river toward nesting areas, and in the fall, they migrate southward to open water wintering areas scattered along several hundred miles of the Mississippi River.

During the early spring, a lot of dead fish on floating ice will be the food of the bold eagles. Through the telescope, I saw the eagles just sit on the trees and wait for the fish. They are so smart!

Then we went to the national eagle center, where some cripple eagles stay. Some of them met accidents and were sent here. There are people taking care of them and explain to visitors how to avoid an accident with eagles. It is said that those sick eagles' head would not change to white as others. But any way, they are safe now. Hope they are happy too.

Fishing on the ice

Last Saturday, Audry, Mike and I went down Wisconsin to watch the eagles. On the way home, I met some people fishing on the ice. They just dig a hole on the ice and wait. So interesting! But in my opinion, it is very lonely to sit on the ice for a whole day waiting for a fish. In addition, I could be frozen! While for those guys on the ice, it seemed that they really enjoyed doing so.

So romantic! I love the scenery

Everyday is the first day of the rest of your life

The snow is coming down now. Today on my way to the test, I asked Amy whether the spring was coming. She said "yes". Acturally we both felt the warm air But just as the weather broadcast predicted, it snows again! ZZ and I stayed warm at home, watching the snow out of our windows. ZZ said that he began to love the snow here.

Yes, everyday is the first day of the rest of my life. Let us enjoy every minute from now on, including the weather here!

Just beautiful!

Snow, Sunset, also the red house!

Warren Buffett

Warren Edward Buffett (b. August 30, 1930, Omaha, Nebraska) is an American investor, businessman and philanthropist.

Buffett has amassed an enormous fortune from astute investments, particularly through the company Berkshire Hathaway, of which he is the largest shareholder and CEO. With an estimated current net worth of around US$52 billion, he is ranked by Forbes as the second-richest person in the world, behind Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.

In June 2006, he made a commitment to give away his fortune to charity, with 83% of it going to the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. The donation amounts to approximately $30 billion. Buffet's donation is said to be the largest in U.S. History. At the time of the announcement the donation was enough to more than double the size of the foundation.

Despite his immense wealth, Buffett is famous for his unpretentious and frugal lifestyle. When he spent $9.7 million of Berkshire's funds on a corporate jet in 1989, he jokingly named it "The Indefensible" because of his past criticisms of such purchases by other CEOs. He continues to live in the same house in the central Dundee neighborhood of Omaha, Nebraska that he bought in 1958 for $31,500. (although he also owned a more expensive home in Laguna Beach, California which he sold in 2004).

His annual salary of about $100,000 is tiny by the standards of senior executive remuneration in other comparable companies. In an interview on CNBC, he mentioned that his annual salary is equal to the price of the Berkshire Hathaway Class A share price. CEOs in S&P 500 constituent companies averaged about $9 million compensation in 2003.

He is a kind and energetic old man. Very talkative and impressive. Every year, he invites some students to dinner and makes speech. In his opinion, the most important thing for one to evaluate the stock of a company is not the price, but the management and the operation of that company. He never invest in the companies which he does not know well. ZZ asked him a question about the Chinese's economy, and he replied without thinking. When the students took pictures with him, he became very funny and naughty, just like a boy!
